in the shadow of war

From the beginning to the end of the movie, IDA didn't say a few words in total. Basically relying on various psychological activities and eyes to express her emotions. Living in a monastery has cut her off from the world, and she stubbornly wears a headscarf and nun's clothes. When the truth is revealed, she behaves more calmly than her aunt. To put it another way, she knew less, experienced less, and perhaps suffered less. And my aunt knew the truth vaguely, but she never had the courage to confirm it and face it. When the truth was in front of her eyes, she couldn't escape. The pain in her heart over the years has caused her to drink and smoke to relieve her emotions. At this moment, holding her son's corpse, she was unable to bear it. Playing a piece of music and jumping out of the window calmly fits her character. IDA originally planned to enter the secular society, but after having fun with the saxophone man, he thought of the future - buying a dog, getting married, having children, and living an ordinary life. Maybe she never thought about it, these seem mundane but real life. And the belief she accepted before was to worship God - such a great cause. She hesitated, she was at a loss. She quietly carried the suitcase and chose to leave and returned to the monastery. I don't think she went back because she was sure to give herself to God. But, at this moment, she didn't know how to choose. More than ten years of monastic life, and the truth in the secular society, she began to be unable to distinguish right from wrong, and began to doubt. I think it's a good thing for her. Only through experience will you know what you want. When you are confused, when you return to the monastery, this quiet place, you may want to be quiet, think about yourself, think about life, and think about the future.

    Anna: Yes.

    Wanda: About carnal love?

    Anna: No.

Wanda: That's a shame. You should try, otherwise what sort of sacrifice are these vows of yours?
