I wanted to tell a positive story about eradicating evil and promoting good, but it backfired.

The whole film integrates several classic fairy tales, "Little Red Riding Hood" + "Cinderella" + "Rapunzel" + "Jack's Magic Beanstalk".

In fact, the movie is all about reasoning and persuading the world. Little Red Riding Hood failed to withstand the temptation of Depp's Big Bad Wolf on the way to grandma's house, causing a tragedy in her life; Jack's mother asked Jack to go to the neighboring village market to sell the old cows in order to confuse buyers for high prices; Cinderella's The prince danced with her for three nights in a row and couldn't recognize Cinderella, how could the same thing happen three times? I can't help but suspect the prince's IQ; when the prince was looking for Cinderella with a crystal-free golden shoe, the stepmother who cut off her daughter's toes so that her daughter could get into that shoe was enough, Cinderella became a great woman in life. Why do people still have to peck people's eyes and cut off their toes after the winner? Is this really generous? Unconsciously persuading the world turned into a rant.

Aunt May is a very good character in this play, criticizing human greed, ignorance, and unscrupulous means. In the end, disaster was incurred. After killing the giant, the giantess came to avenge her husband. The most unfortunate thing in this drama is this giant. First, he was stolen gold coins, golden eggs, and harps. After being provoked, he was killed. The husband lost his wife and went out. Why should the revenge of justice be greedy of humans to defeat? In the end is to eliminate evil and promote good or to promote greed and injustice. There's even an incestuous affair between the prince and the baker's wife, OMG!

In short, the screenwriter's brain is as big as a giant, eh! just sauce~

Into the Woods quotes

  • Baker: As the Prince anxiously waited, the stepmother took matters, and Florinda's foot, into her own hands.

    Florinda: Careful, my toe!

    Stepmother: Darling, I know!

    Florinda: What will we do?

Stepmother: It'll have to go/but when you're his bride/you can sit or ride/you'll never need to walk!

[cuts off Florinda's toe and Florinda screams in pain]

Baker: Minus one toe, Florinda mounted the Prince's horse, unaware of the blood dripping from the slipper. Lucinda was next...

    Lucinda: Why won't it fit?

Stepmother: Darling, be still/cut off a bit of the heel and it will/and when you're his wife/you'll have such a life/you'll never need to walk!

[cuts of Lucinda's heel and Lucinda screams in pain]

Baker: Minus a heel, Lucinda did her best to swallow the pain.

Stepmother: It's a perfect fit your highness!

    [Lucinda faints]

  • Jack: Magic what type of magic?

    Baker's Wife: Tell him.

Baker: Magic that, uh, defies description.
