Abstract: Music plays the role of the mediator between the film world and the audience. Music can change the space of the film, nullify the influence, and enjoy the autonomy of music through some reactions that are not mainly obtained through visual channels.

Music exists as a mixed sound image.

Music can change, dilute or intensify the subjective feelings of the audience. According to the different requirements of the audience's listening form, they can create their own words.

Music becomes part of life.

So music becomes a kind of reminder, reminding you what kind of environment and what kind of era you are in.

Key words: Repeating and interlacing

The rhythm of this film has musical jumps. Wong Kar-wai's skilled skills and avant-garde creative concepts transform the sound of music into means, and carefully create a situation of love between music and film.

Accurate grasp, film rhythm and visual has a typical MTV (1) style.

The narrative method runs through the hazy attitude, the ambiguous entanglement between the opposite sex and the alternation of music create a heterogeneous color for the film, which combines joy and pain into a furnace, with a strong charm.

Among them, Wong Kar-wai collages, reproduces and uses rock or pop music as the theme music of the narrative.

These include active music (2), electronic psychedelic music, "Dreamers" (3), European and American pop music, etc.

The first part tells the story of a broken-hearted police officer (played by Takeshi Kaneshiro) and a professional killer (played by Brigitte Lin).

This part mainly uses electronic music titled "Chasing a Metaphysical Train" and "Joy in Space"(4).

To describe Brigitte Lin's panic and chaotic emotions while trying to find Indians while avoiding the pursuit of drug bosses;

the second part of the film tells the story of a girl named Fei (Faye Wong) who falls in love with PC663 (Liang Chaowei). And the identity of this policeman is a continuation of the first part of the narrative.

In the first half of the 18 seconds, Brigitte Lin appeared, and the original music of Chen Xunqi and LOWELL AGARCIA was used as the theme music of Brigitte Lin (the arrangement was psychedelic, with a kind of charm).

She walked through Chungking Mansions, there were a lot of Indians. The music is direct, giving people a feeling of being lifted up.

The sky was getting dark, and a large piece of floating clouds came, there was a rumbling sound, and the repeated main melody and sub-melody were quite prominent. The two appeared like a duet, with the female killer played by Brigitte Lin, who chased back and forth in Chungking Mansions day after day, showing the killer's coldness and tension.

He Zhiwu began to read the white, and the music continued, and he had an intersection with Lin Qingxia. Until he said: When we were the closest, the distance between me and her was only 0.01 cm. After 57 hours, I fell in love with this woman. The music stopped abruptly..

At 5 minutes and 40 seconds, Brigitte Lin appeared in a bar, and foreigners molested her. At this time, the ambiguous and nostalgic jazz-style song "Things inlife (5)" appeared.

About 6 minutes and 30 seconds, Brigitte Lin was in a room, giving a group of Indians gave out drugs, and music with Indian national characteristics appeared.

At 8 minutes and 22 seconds, the Indians were eating, and Brigitte Lin was on the phone, accompanied by a very soft Indian music. Next, the Indians sewed clothes with drugs, little bear dolls , shoes, etc., there are very brisk Indian songs, which also implies that they have no sense of crime at all, but just think that they are making money. After completing the formalities at the airport counter, they suddenly found that these Indians were gone! Brigitte Lin searched everywhere, but to no avail. At

12 minutes and 10 seconds, Brigitte Lin reappeared in the bar. Ambiguous and nostalgic jazz sounded, she sipped her wine, knowing that she would be in trouble if she couldn't find those Indians..

At 14 minutes, Brigitte Lin walked out of a room in the building. She took out a pistol from the locker and began to look for the Indians. With Lin Qingxia's hasty but futile rush, she walked through closed spaces one after another. Her theme music appeared: Arrangement psychedelic, rich and colorful Tech music..

In 17 minutes, He Zhiwu arrested the wanted criminal. The music was very rhythmic and rock-like, in line with the scene of grabbing, and it also reflected his inner excitement. He has not solved the case for 6 months, and every time there is good news, he is the first. The first person I want to inform is my girlfriend, May.

20 minutes, Brigitte Lin smoked at the entrance of the building, and Indian music appeared. When she entered the building and fought against the Indians, the rhythm of the drums was very strong. A woman who sings gives a feeling of amusing herself, and such a feeling is not inappropriate in such a scene. On the contrary, it seems to fit quite well. After Lin Qingxia killed a few Indians, she fled, and Wong Kar-wai used a very striking metallic music to set off.

25 minutes later, He Zhiwu was at the bar. Because I ate too many canned pineapples and vomited, I finally had a positive encounter with Brigitte Lin, and "Things inlife" appeared again. A bit ambiguous. There is a blurred and drifting atmosphere in the film, the tone of the high-pitched saxophone is bright and melancholy, and the dialogue, scenes and music cooperate to create a quiet atmosphere.

PC223 Takeshi Kaneshiro has never been able to find a bosom friend after his breakup. No matter how many people he talks to, what he says is empty talk.

"Sweat, Rain, Tears" is used as the theme music of He Zhiwu (4) (PC223). When he came out of Chungking Mansion, he left the killer played by Brigitte Lin with a heartbroken mood. Walking on the street with sparse and semi-dark pedestrians, the music sounded again, sad and psychedelic, intertwined with the saltiness of sweat, the splash of rain and the astringency of tears. At this time, the music was pungent and sensual.

He Zhiwu and Fei (Faye Wong) met for the first time. He Zhiwu's narration: When I was closest to her, the distance between us was only 0.01 cm. I knew nothing about her. After six hours, she liked another man.

The broadcast of "California Dreaming" (6), which prompted the beginning of the second half of the film, also introduced Fei's appearance. Fei is the most light-hearted character in the film, she is casual and often speaks without a word. The big eyes are just turning, but they will always live in their own world. If they like someone, they live in fantasy. Or go to someone else's house every day to clean up and wash, play with the sundries in the house alone, enjoy themselves, like someone but be afraid to confess. Tony Leung (PC663) appeared (this is a policeman who can't express himself. When he is brokenhearted, he is the only one who talks silly to the debris at home.).

First conversation with Fei:: Do you like listening to such loud music? """Yes, it's good to be a little noisy, you don't have to think about so many things."""You don't like to think about things? "Fei nodded: "Then what do you like? "" I don't know, I'll tell you when I think about it. It directly stated the character of Faye Wong played by Faye Wong: I don't like to talk, and it also paved the way for the future of the two. The background music hints at Fei's dreaming personality.

Then PC663 often comes, and the two sometimes have a dialogue, sometimes not. But "California Dreaming" has been filling audiences' ears. Fei dances in California dreams. She looks forward to wandering, but it doesn't matter if her attitude is hippie. . Wong Kar Wai is very sensitive to the interaction between music and pictures or even music and stories. From "California Dreaming", Wong Kar-wai cleverly used this music disc to connect Faye Wong and Tony Leung, gradually establishing a relationship from alienation to closeness. This song, which originally felt noisy in Tony Leung's ears, could gradually enter his world, and he didn't even care when it was played at home one day. It turned out that time would allow him to accept something he never thought he would like. Includes a song, a girl. As chef salad is not the only option. Since then, this record has become the music he played with joy when he opened a fast food restaurant. The sound waves are also very loud, and the songs in the record represent PC663's feelings for Fei, which is evident.

Wong Kar-wai chose Faye Wong and inserted the song "Dream Man" for her behavior, which became the best portrayal of her inner world: "Dream man, hug for one minute, then kiss for ten minutes. Stranger, how to go Enter your heart and create this excitement. I seem to have fallen in love with you, and you are not as close as you are now, and my thoughts start to go too far. Why did you suddenly attack me, come into my stuffy dream, and arouse a shock... "The

music first appeared when Faye Wong stared at PC663 drinking coffee in a fast food restaurant (this time it only appeared in a short segment), the crowd rushed past in fast motion, but it didn't prevent her from paying attention to him, he was her dream Chinese, the meaning is the most clear and simple.

39 minutes, Fei and PC663 meet. "California Dreaming" is broadcast on the radio. The four-part song has a strong metal style and rhythm, with perfect harmony and smooth melody, plus Fei, it has a great sense of picture. Exuding California sunshine rock charm, soothing.

For 45 minutes, PC663 was at home with his girlfriend. The background music included clips of record players and TV dramas. The jazz music of the record player version was slow, ambiguous, and a bit decadent, haunting the desires of the two.

After PC663's girlfriend left, she went to the snack bar again. It was still "California Dreaming". Fei was very busy, but she seemed to be very busy again, and kept paying attention to the police.

After 50 minutes, everyone in the store seemed to have made an appointment and all went out. Only Fei and the police were left. Fei gave him his girlfriend's letter and key, but he didn't want it, saying he would take it when he was free.

1 hour and 4 minutes later, Fei took the key in the letter and came to the house. And change the record on the turntable to "California Dreaming". The transformation of music highlights the style of Wong Kar-wai's film music as a narrative language. Faye Wong's behavior of changing discs embellished the imagination of the music. Except for Fei's accidental walks, other sounds were almost excluded. While Fei was cleaning PC663's house, the voice-over kept playing the song "Dream Man". And it's a whole song. Since Faye Wong sang, it was placed in the movie, which further strengthened the projection of the song to Faye Wong. PC663 in the movie is of course Faye Wong's "dream person". Interestingly, Faye Wong herself is also a "dream person". People who live in dreams are often in a sleepwalking state, erratic. The music here goes beyond the usual embellishments of music.

1 hour and 7 minutes later, Fei came to PC663's house again. His apartment became a space for Fei to daydream. Faye Wong's "Dream Man" lasted 3 minutes. Faye Wong's voice is like fresh air, which makes people feel refreshed. Music becomes an important lead here, indicating a somewhat dark and horrifying, but naughty, female inner psychological space. "California Dreaming" and "Dreamers" are two songs that point directly to Fei's psychological space.

All along, Fei said very little. She doesn't like talking, so she uses songs to match her movements. The song acts as a dominant character, paired with camera movement and montage, creating fluid ballet-like rhythms for a range of her performances. (7) At

1 hour and 22 minutes, PC663 came to the store to find Fei and said that he wanted to get a letter. At this time, jazz music appeared, and it felt hot, soft and comfortable.

1 hour and 30 minutes later, PC663 read the letter, but couldn't read it clearly, but said that they would meet in California in a year. Fei is in California, he is here in California, and the two miss it. The saxophone timbre appears slowly, and in the midrange, sentiment flows silently in the atmosphere.

"2 minutes" later, Fei came back from California, PC663 topped the snack bar. "California Dreaming" is playing in the store. The conversation between the two changed angles from the initial meeting. It ends with Faye Wong's "Dream Man" which is perfect.

In a dream or converted into a real space, it is up to the audience to imagine. Repetition is an important proposition in Wong Kar-wai's films. In the second half, Wong Kar-wai repeatedly used "California Dreaming" to express the changes in the relationship between Faye Wong and Tony Leung. Wong Kar-wai uses the repetition of music to deepen the audience's impression of the image.

Most of Wong Kar-wai's films and film music combine the shooting style of "music video". Formed a bewildering movie magic.

The lives of the protagonists sounded with the melody of the music, and with the incoherent editing shots, they presented different faces. This broken, incoherent film language is taken for granted by the music. It not only made the audience understand, but also became a symbol in Wong Kar Wai's films.
