Alien: Blade Without Emperor
is another masterpiece by Bones, I just finished it today. At first, I just watched it for its hearty fighting scenes, and it didn't disappoint me. Whether it is the magnificent war scene or the life-and-death confrontation between the last two masters, they are all vividly portrayed. Coupled with the sad, heroic and sobbing background music, such as a hero's dirge, the whole atmosphere is set to the point of ignition. Of course, it wasn't just that that really struck me.
The story line of the film is simple, it is a journey of a foreigner to protect a child who is being hunted down. I won't go into details.
The cloth that sealed the samurai sword in the past
, covered with scars, red hair and red eyes, woke up again and again from nightmares. For the protagonist Wuming, the past is an inescapable nightmare and a sin that must be borne. In order to prevent the blood of innocent children from being smeared on his hands again, he chose to betray the insensitive lord and became a ronin from a samurai. But how to forget those bloody storms in the past? How to survive in this closed, xenophobic country? How to find the salvation of the soul? Before meeting the child, he had been wandering aimlessly, doing anything to survive. No direction and lack of faith, lonely and downcast.
Yuyu
is the nameless bargaining chip that the child gave to seek refuge, and it also symbolizes the deep bond between them. In the days of getting along with the children, they gradually learned to trust and rely on each other. In the end, it was because of the jade that Wuming avoided the fatal injury. It can be said that it was because of this bond that Wuming saved the child, but in turn, the bond between him and the child not only allowed him to survive, but also allowed him to atone for the sins of the past and obtain a spiritual release. Taking jade as an opportunity to save each other adds a touch of touching warmth to the cold era.
An old man who wants
to betray his children for a bounty. A samurai who indulges his ambitions to usurp power. Westerners who only want to seek the pleasure of standing and fighting. A king who will do anything to find the elixir of immortality. I can't help but laugh, this era is a melting pot of desires. I can't see what Ye Yinli said, the loyal and cruel Bushido. Everyone here lives for themselves, and some people can give up their principles and destroy their conscience in the face of desire. Is this true human nature?
Medicine
If there is a medicine, you will not feel any pain after taking it, will you take it? For those who make a living with the sword, being able to escape pain is the best option. But is it still alive after eating it? It seems to be very powerful, but it is just escaping. Once the effect of the drug is over, it will be revealed immediately.
The knife that Broken
Blade was finally cut off by Westerners is a nameless past. He left it on the battlefield, and since then the world has lost a powerful ronin, and gained a foreigner who lives and roams the world with a child and a dog.
Dogs
are spiritual animals. The child's Akita is the most loyal, brave and unrequited image in the film. Compared with the greed and viciousness of people, the greatness of dogs is more like an irony.
At the end
of the whole film, the child rides a horse, carries the injured Wuming, and takes the dog, galloping through the snow in the bright sunshine. They must have a happy ending when they are reborn.

One extra star is because the production is so sophisticated, especially on the big screen, it is amazing that the world created by this two-dimensional creation is so real @新文艺坐•BONES社 15th Anniversary Night

Three and a half. Although old-fashioned, it is concise, and some of the passages are really well shot.

Sword of the Stranger quotes

  • Luo-Lang: You've lived too long, old man.

  • [last lines]

Nanashi: You've become pretty good. It feels... like I'm walking on top of the clouds.

Kotaro: Don't flatter me. Are your wounds all right?

Nanashi: Yeah... even a treasure like this comes in handy sometimes.

    Kotaro: Right?

Nanashi: Really... you're some employer. Can you see the town?

Kotaro: I can't see it yet. But, I'm sure it's close! Hey...

    Nanashi: Huh?

Kotaro: Once your wounds heal, do you want to leave this country? If we go abroad, people there wouldn't mind your hair color, right?

Nanashi: A foreign land, huh. That's not a bad idea. But how would we make money?

Kotaro: We could steal, or become bodyguards. We can do anything! In fact, we could even become pirates!

Kotaro: You're... really full of villainous ideas.

Kotaro: [laughs] Hold on tight, so you won't fall off!

    Nanashi: Yeah.

    Kotaro: Let's go!
