I guess I digress again

I thought it was an American comedy when I saw the name, and I thought it was a restrained version of Fifty Shades of Grey when I read the recommendation. Only by reading the content did I gain insight →_→.
The abused person may seem weak in appearance, but in fact his heart is very firm. On the other hand, the abuser, although strong in appearance, ultimately loses to the former.
Incredibly, after watching this somewhat erotic movie, for the first time, I felt a little understanding of the image of a savior that haunts religion.
They don't seem to have the ability to subdue the world, so when they try to save the world, they often put themselves in the midst of misery and stand in the position of the abused. But did they seem so weak to succeed? Yes, it worked. why? I don't know, I just know that in this movie the abuser who seems to be in a strong position is controlled by the abuser who seems to be in a weak position, and his heart feels guilty for the suffering he didn't inflict on himself, tormented.
What an incredible power, weak and asking for suffering. So inconspicuous, yet so hard to resist.

Then there's the matter of sadism.
When the abused female protagonist saw her father lying on a hospital bed, her first reaction was to go to the abusive male protagonist. The female protagonist stood outside the door and glanced at the door briefly, then knocked on the door, followed by a dialogue that was not satisfactory to the male protagonist, and then left relatively calmly. The male protagonist is like a sedative to her, something that makes her feel "even if it's a little bad now, I must still feel safe seeing him live like every day". The female protagonist probably has some dependence on the male protagonist. I can't help but speculate whether the female protagonist's masochistic tendency is related to her own spiritual fragility and weakness, and the male protagonist, as her opposite, just fills in the part she has lost.
