Takahata Isao should be a Japanese director familiar to many people. "Grave of the Fireflies" and "The Fairy Tale of the Years" are my favorite animated films, and I still remember the cute confession of the ten-year-old boy in "The Fairy Tale of the Years": "Then ...that...like...like, compared to sunny days and rainy days, what kind of weather do you like?" And "Grave of Fireflies", I watched it a long time ago, I still can't forget the narration of the boy "I am already dead, what was the situation at that time", the boy's sister died of hunger caused by the war, and I was crying. And this "Kaguya Story", which has attracted much attention from the Oscars, tells a Japanese folklore story lightly. The style of painting is very unique, like a beautiful watercolor painting, but also like a sketch. two words to describe.
However, this film did not give me as much love as the previous two films, except that it was a profound improvement and innovation in the style of painting. Maybe because this legend is too far away from me to empathize with it.
