after the wedding

Death, a very "ordinary" event, is full of connotations: the struggles and contradictions of the parties involved, the pain and reluctance of relatives, and the innocence of children.
When the twins drop roses and say "bye, papa", when the Indian boy refuses to go to Denmark and says "you can visit me often", they have no idea what "death" and "parting" mean.
The world is different for everyone.
On the one hand, the male protagonist has great love and is willing to help countless orphans; on the other hand, he is also reckless and refuses to take responsibility for the family. People who want to die when they don't want to die will die anyway, and the male protagonist finally takes his responsibility.
The life of the characters in the film is divided into two parts, before the wedding and after the wedding. The dream before the wedding, and the cruelty after the wedding. After a grand and sweet wedding, the truth of life is revealed.
The film uses a lot of silent long shots, backlit black plants, moist and dark animal eyes, and conveys the emotion of depression and sadness everywhere.
And there is an Indian-style funeral at the beginning, which echoes the Danish funeral at the end.

I like the scene with facial expressions.

The plot is really terrible, the big boss is really a good guy with no bottom line; but the screenwriter is really top-notch technology. I saw three Susanne Bier, which have a global perspective. They are the contrast between the rich and comfortable Denmark and the turbulent and backward regions of the world. This film is hand-held photography, with a lot of close-ups (especially the eyes).
