I recently watched "The Conscience of a Liberal", the movie "Factory Girl", it's all about America in the 1950s and 60s, it's a fantastic age. like China today.
Material life erupted, information exploded, wired telephones and television became popular, and traditional society still dominated values, while new occupations such as movie stars were more powerful in occupying the public eye. Celebrities became an identity and brought commercial value, and individuals no longer compromise. In the family, women are becoming financially independent, society is more tolerant of dissent, young people are frighteningly open, and family members are not so close.
At that time, it was a bright road for women to give up their career and self-worth for the sake of family and a stable life. As little Edie's father said to her mother, "Your only duty is to find a stable husband for your daughter." I guess no one would say that now, in America.
In China, this sentence has to be said for a period of time.
Sometimes a thing is a comedy or a tragedy entirely depending on how you look at it. Sometimes comedy is the most tragic comedy.
So I think in most of the years, in most countries, women are the most squeezed group.
