From evil to good is everyone's path

If humans are still animals in the final analysis, then the behavior of war is not fundamentally different from the law of the jungle in the animal world.

But after all, people are different from animals, because we can think. And from evil to good is the way of mankind. I think the evolution process of human beings has never stopped. The Jewish nation is a victim of the advancing wheel of history. This is the tragedy of their race, the tragedy of the German nation, and the tragedy of our entire human race. In fact, we are also victims of the evolutionary process. Looking around, even in this relatively peaceful world, there are still many tragedies happening. Domestic violence, rape, elder abuse, and more.

The only thing we can do is to remember these histories so that the tragedy will not happen again. No one is immune to the despicableness of human nature, and everyone has an unchangeable inferiority. But the ability of subjective choice cannot be given up because of the reality of the objective world. The stories that have overcome the meanness of human nature are the most glorious moments of human nature. For example, compared to animals, like them, we can do whatever it takes to live or choose to die with dignity. The struggle between good and evil has continued since human records began. Everyone can recite several such stories with familiarity, but in the end, some people choose to do bad things. This is really frustrating.

I don't believe there will ever be a communist society, but I'd rather work towards that goal with such hope. Who can say for sure where it will go. But working in the right direction is not always bad. We have to pass on the good side of human nature just like discarding the tail and discard the evil side. Let our children and grandchildren live a more free and happy life.

Some of the great artists have helped us document those ugly moments, while others have sung the shining moments for us. May you and I not disappoint their efforts.

Although this is a documentary, it has a distinct style. Pulling from the quiet and peaceful countryside to the ferocious barbed wire fence, the first shot is thrilling. The contrast between the black-and-white expansion pieces, photos, and color images also gives people a sense of digging out details from history and looking for shock from calmness. Those slowly panning shots are very similar to the images in "Hiroshima Love". In the process of watching this film, I felt that there is not only one hell, but there are branches all over the world, because the Nazi concentration camp is so similar to the Jiabiangou rightist labor reform farm in China, except that the latter does not have a gas chamber.

No matter how moved, how angry, how sad, you are just a calm spectator.

Night and Fog quotes

  • Récitant/Narrator: Who among us keeps watch over this strange watchtower to warn the arrival of our new executioners? Are their faces really different from our own?

  • Récitant/Narrator: Somewhere in our midst, lucky kapos still survive, reinstated officers or anonymous informers. There are those who refused to believe or believed only for brief moments.
