In fact, the whole world is a hospital

At the beginning of this film, I was deceived by the dignified and elegant eyes of the heroine, and mistakenly thought it was a thriller about a mental hospital doctor experimenting with normal people. The result of torture.
The fog cover of Yunshan Mountain in the distant mental hospital is full of mystery and unknown, and the male protagonist whose image is contrary to this is like a weak green grass in the unfathomable cliff valley, either being slaughtered by others, or standing tall and straight into the sky. Two thoughts suddenly appeared in my mind: the person who can choose such a hospital as the start of his doctor's career is either someone with a problem in his head or someone who is not an ordinary person; if the male protagonist is really innocent, this trip will be a dangerous journey.
Of course, as the plot progressed, many question marks were solved in advance, and the ending was also expected. This is an orthodox American thriller and suspense film, but it is neither thrilling nor too suspenseful. I used to have fun in my mind about the bridge between doctors and patients, but I couldn't implement it, and the reversal of the male protagonist was also expected, which is the usual routine of American suspense films. But it's not bad overall, and it's a movie worth watching among the lacklustre movies in the past two years.
In fact, the spirit of the film is still worth thinking about.
The mentally ill is not without medicine, but the key lies in the key that unlocks the shackles of the mind. The male and female protagonists are each other's keys. They find each other in each other. Their shortcomings are like two positive and negative magnetic poles that attract them to each other. They are like matching locks and keys. The existence of each other is their own value. Two complete existences. But most people who suffer from this disease are not so lucky. They may live in a state of chaos all their lives, living in sighs of people around them and contempt of strangers.
The mental hospital is mysterious and unfamiliar to many people. How many doctors do not treat patients as human beings at all, and change from the status of treating diseases to the pathogens that cause diseases. Doctors often think that they are saving people, but in fact they always misread other people's illnesses and use inappropriate methods, which makes the patient's condition not only incurable but more serious. Sometimes, I don't understand how those incompetent psychiatrists get their doctor's licenses, and whether there are many shortcomings in our system. If you want the society to be warmer, you must first cure the disease of the system and the doctor's own disease. Otherwise, what about the white-clothed messenger who brings the gospel to the mentally ill?
The patient is pitiful, perhaps because the onset of the disease has brought too much pain to the family, causing them to be abandoned and despised. But as a doctor, shouldn't it be more appropriate to give them more warmth instead of creating more mental and physical pain?
In reality, how many people are "ill" without knowing it, and what is the difference between them and Soter and the patients in the film? But the society has cultivated an unhealthy breeding ground, spreading the virus to the whole earth, and the only thing that can save us is the sobriety that does not compromise with the world, otherwise the world and the city in the Resident Evil crisis are just the same.
The fortress in the film is actually alluding to our sick society. We always think that others have problems, but in fact, there are more problems than others! When we decide to treat others the way we think is right, have we ever thought that the so-called "right" is just our own wishful thinking!

  • The Alienist: Believe nothing that you hear. And only one-half of what you see.

  • Silas Lamb: Of all the afflictions I think of none more cruel than madness. It robs a man of his reason, his dignity, his very soul. And it does so, so slowly, without the remorse of death.
