The director JC Chandor caught my attention as expected

This is not an elderly version of "Fantasy Drifting", don't expect any 3D special effects, it is more like a 21st century enhanced version of Hemingway's "The Old Man and the Sea". The design of the one-man show not only provides a rare opportunity for Robert Redford's superb acting skills, but also the director's seamless blend of genre elements such as suspense thriller and disaster film, making this basically no lines full of film. Incredible dramatic tension. In my opinion, this is a fable with a strong cautionary tinge, far from a gripping sea escape story. However, the director's design of the ending spoils the allegorical flavor of the whole story a bit, making the film return to the ranks of drama, and the level is immediately lowered by a few points. I guess this must be the result of the director succumbing to Hollywood producers, or a helpless choice to please the audience. In any case, the director JC Chandor caught my attention as expected, looking forward to his latest work A Most Violent Year, I wonder what surprises will appear?
