I remember the professor once said to David that you can really understand Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 3 if you play it like there is no tomorrow. This was David's dream and goal since he was a child, and the show was a success. But it was as if a bunker that could not be conquered for a long time collapsed in an instant, and he fell on the glorious starting point after his success. For the music, he was crazy and sick. I sighed with emotion that a genius based on the anxiety and longing of his inner soul has become crazy, down and out, and slowly buried in the crowd without being appreciated. On the road of infinite pursuit of music, coupled with the pressure of his father's authoritarian and paranoid family education since childhood, David's mind and life seem to be completely deviated - he, lost his way. For David, music used to be his all, shelter, pride, joy, and the source of his pain, but before he had time to enjoy the joy of success, he fell on the threshold of heaven. Yes, only one step away, but he was exhausted and paralyzed. Poor...
When I first got sick, I was still fresh in my memory of the scene where I was lying on the bed in a daze, but my fingers were still playing frantically. I also remember that on a rainy day, he was smoking a cigarette alone and looking for a piano in the city. I remember how his "Flying Bumblebee" drew his sword out of the scabbard in the eyes of everyone full of suspicion and contempt, which won him a new understanding and respect from others. And when he parted with the astrological girl, the trembling and extremely unconfident "Marry me?"... Slowly, we have all seen the changes in David. He who once fell in music, once again Still under the power of music and love, he has regained his charming demeanor. This suddenly reminded me of John Nash in "A Beautiful Mind" that I watched a while ago. They are geniuses in different fields, but how similar their life paths are. They are all a process of realizing self-transcendence, and they are deeply moved at the same time~
In fact, David is very lucky, he has fulfilled his childhood dream and found another part of his life that has been missing - success and love in his artistic career, his wife's love for him, and the love and harmony between father and son understand. I forgot who said "Life is still going on" in the movie, as if it was a father who either resigned or resolutely resisted. David is the latter, he has found a gorgeous movement in his life, it's amazing, cheers for him~ ...
I found that I really like watching this type of movie, in the process of watching how they play with themselves, finally The realization of self-growth and transcendence makes me feel very enjoyable. To put it mildly, I found that there is always a sky in the heart of geniuses that belongs to paranoid, innocent children and a little neurotic. Perhaps because of this, they have a keen and unique way of thinking that is different from ordinary people. The level of concentration is somewhat equivalent to the obsession and subversion in love. While the light shines, it also makes me a little bit at a distance...
After watching "Shine" and "A beautiful Mind" at about the same time, I am not sure about those choices. Women who are with geniuses are also full of curiosity, presumably extraordinary courage, self-confidence and a strong heart are essential. Suddenly I found that for such extreme geniuses, God seems to have really forgotten to take care of their talents in life. Perhaps this is a kind of balance. On the other hand, if you look at yourself, you will fully understand and be at ease with the ordinary happiness of being an ordinary person. Then let's do our part and continue to be happy~ :)
PS: Another movie that made me watch and laugh with him. Very nice biography~
