It is said that Quentin shed tears after watching "Old Boy". So I remembered Park Chan-wook's name. It is undeniable that Park Chan-wook does have considerable skills in shaping the stage. Whether it is the prison like a rented house in "Old Boy" or the warm dining table in "Kind Gold", every time I look at it, I feel that reality and the film are like a crack. Opened shortbread, crackling sound can be heard incessantly. Especially "Snowpiercer" directly shaped a completely closed train scene.
The above three films can be said to be ambiguous in light and color, and can be divided into depression. "Stoke" is a completely different scene. After watching Park Zanyu's film, you will feel that the landscape in front of you suddenly becomes clear, and there are furniture, trees, and lawns. The shift in this, I think, is really surprising. But there are still a few things that don't change: blood, expressionless hatred and killing.
Maybe reality is not so cruel, or maybe beautiful girls don't kill people, but these elements only appear in real life. In Park Zanyu's world, sexual desire must be suppressed, beautiful girls must be able to do it, and people who are well-dressed on the outside must be evil on the inside.
