Archie's world

I came across Archie in a magazine. That's an interview. I'm still vaguely impressed by some of these conversations.
What impressed me most was that Aki was found in the dialogue to be a very smoker, like all the characters in his films. Ask Archie why his works are so short, rarely exceeding ninety minutes. Akey said his limit of staying non-smoking was 90 minutes. He said he couldn't watch a movie of more than 90 minutes at the cinema anyway, because he couldn't smoke, it was too sad.
Of course, I fell in love with that style when I saw the first Aki movie. The movie is "The Man Without a Past".
Aki's films do not have redundant actions and lines, the performance must be expressive, and there is no redundancy.
The music is always just right on The Man Without a Past, too. A good movie, the music is always just right. The male protagonist asks for a jukebox in his container home. But think about it, he doesn't want anything else, he can only want a record player, so that the director's time is not wasted. He also formed a rock band in the welfare society, and he loves music. Before he was disappointed, he never moved, and wanted to be the band manager. His ex-wife also said he lost all his records while playing poker. (He and his ex-wife are still looking at that side at the same time, but the camera doesn't move. Haha, obviously the audience sees the empty bookshelf that doesn't actually exist.) His hobbies are as long as he doesn't lose his name. Couldn't do it well. Losing his name caused him trouble, but gave him a new life.
His gentlemanly manners made him feel noble even though he worked in a welfare agency and lived in a shipping container. Little did he know that he was a violent person before his disappointment, and his ex-wife's boyfriend almost wanted to duel with him.

Without the past, the meaning in the movie should be to start over.
Aki is full of zealous hope for this world!

The film is also full of drama. The best part is 2/3 of the film, because the memory left by the man who has no memory is still preserved and found, so he finally understands his past. I thought that the plot would take a sharp turn, and the second half would become a tragedy or a broken bubble. But like the classic development of ancient Greek drama, Euripides's plot development has concentrated the contradictions into an inextricable mess. At this time, the God of Relief appeared and solved all the problems. The second half of the film did not turn abruptly, but opened a new page, and life presented a fresh, different positivity and optimism.

Aki won the Grand Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival for this film. This is the prelude to the birth of a classic. Let us look forward to his better works.
