start again and again

I really like the attitude towards music conveyed in this movie, people have their own free will towards music. It is not controlled by music. Music is good, it is to actively recognize it, present it, and complete it. I can't help but think of some song talent shows on TV recently. Each contestant came on stage, first sloganed about their love for music, then presented a slightly sad or sweet story, and finally, inspirational self-encouragement. Compared to the slack and serious attitude of the musicians in the movie, our contestants seem a little too big and inappropriate.
To truly love something, to love someone, should be like loving breathing. It does not need to be reminded, it exists naturally and is indispensable.

James Corden's performance is natural, and Keira Knightley's laugh always feels uncomfortable. On the contrary, when she is not smiling, for example, she looks better when she is working hard in secret.

I like the conversation between the two of them sitting on the street late at night:
this is why I like music? Some of the most mundane images, which can often be filled with a lot of meaning, suddenly turn into beautiful, charismatic pearls, all derived from music.
I have to say, I'm getting older and these pearls are getting rarer.
You have to travel around the world and experience more of the mundane in exchange for dazzling pearls. This moment is like a pearl.

It should be the last movie I watched in 2014. The love so far, the good music, although a bit idealistic, it is good to use it as a healing movie. I'm falling in love with New York

Not as good as "Once", but fresh and cute enough.

Begin Again quotes

  • Dan: That's some song you got there. I promise you it could be a big hit. Plus you're beautiful.

Gretta: I'm sorry, what's beauty got to do with anything?

Dan: Jesus, you're tricky, aren't you?

  • Gretta: I told you, I write songs from time to time.

Dan: What do you write them for?

Gretta: What do you mean what for? For my pleasure. And for my cat.

Dan: Oh really? Does he like them?

Gretta: She. Yes, she seems to.

    Dan: How do you know?

    Gretta: Because she purrs.

    Dan: Maybe she's booing.

Gretta: No, she purrs at Leonard Cohen, too, and she has very good taste.

Dan: Maybe she's fucking with you.
