For a long time after watching "The Taste of Cherry", I was surrounded by the film's deep imagery like the sea, and I couldn't return to my senses for a long time.

The story of "The Taste of Cherry" is simple: Buddy, a middle-aged Iranian man, drives his car in the suburbs and in the wild all day long. He is looking for a suitable person who can help him - because of desperation for life, he hopes to find A man covered his body with dirt after he committed suicide.

The plot of the film is very simple, but the theme of the film is very deep. There are many movies discussing life and death, but they are great but rare. In my impression, only Kurosawa's "The Desire of Life" can be compared with it. I have a deep respect for Iranian director Abbas, he is a real artist, a real master.

On the surface, it was Buddy who was asking for help, but in fact, it was his life that was asking for help. In the process of looking for candidates, Buddy is also looking for the meaning of life. In the film, an experienced old man told Buddy a very meaningful joke: a patient told the doctor that no matter where he poked his finger on his body, it would hurt, and the doctor told him after the examination that his body It's all normal, but his fingers are broken. The old man also told Buddy about his own personal experience, "...I left the house with suicidal thoughts, but when I came home, I was holding mulberries in my hand... Do you really want to taste cherries again?"

At the end of the film, Abbas made a joke with us. In order to keep everyone's sense of mystery and impact on this "joke", I won't reveal the specific content here. Regarding this joke, many people have different views and interpretations, and some even think that Abbas foolishly ruined his great work. As for me personally, I think this passage was intentional by Abbas, and I admire and appreciate the surprise that Abbas brought me, which makes the film richer and deeper- Life is magical and absurd, not to mention movies? Even without this so-called joke, this movie is enough to step into the ranks of great movies, not to mention this divine stroke?

Thinking of this, I smiled with relief. If I could, I can't wait to taste the taste of cherries again, sweet and beautiful, that is the taste of life, the taste of life.
