Traversing

1. She was just traversing in others' lives. People thought about/missed her after she left. They wanted to make her stay.

She left nothing in her life. She just lost things(the tent, the backpack…)
She returned what they gave her. (sold the goat cheese; left the red scarf, the slippers…)

Even when she tried to left her name on the steamed window, she was told not to leave any marks.

2. Her red boots looked like a pair of red withering flowers, which symbolized her young life.

3.Characters appeared again later.Does it suggest that she was just traversing around a circle?

4.She did nothing but being a vagrant. She attached, split, attached, split…and ended up being a vagabond.

I talked to a vagabond the day before yesterday. I saw him sitting on the grass on a bus. I hesitated whether to talk to him and finally walked 2 stops back for him. He does nothing. He has no hobbies. He is from Minnesota but forgot what it's like there. He has been living like this for 4 months(by looking at the sky and counting days). He just like sitting on the grass, which is a relief to him.He has so much hates. He talked about his grandparents and the God.

I love the movie. I wanna be a vagabond.

Also discusses the relationship between men and women. Men have practical pursuits of women, and women are romantic. Why are homeless women?

In Varda's tragic story, wandering is endowed with the meaning of freedom, and freedom is attached with a tragic price - the heroine Mona is helpless and recklessly captures the afterimage of freedom, and finally reaps embarrassment and hardship, loneliness and death; In the end, the dramatic backlash that Mona encountered: Ling Lie was stretched out in the winter night, panicked in the streets and alleys, speechless and choked after the knife was broken, always reminding that the road of quest is full of thorns and full of malice; "The gravity of reality is too much. "Heavy", the shackles of survival in the image are exaggerated and magnified, bringing sticky perception and emotional resonance outside the picture; Lu Xun said, "In the real world, there is a talent for courageous struggle. It is more like a combination of tragic and heroic plots; pragmatism obviously has a wider audience, and it just provides a simple balanced methodology - accepting the constraints of the physical universe, while enjoying the spiritual world. Freedom——Teach people to face the blood dripping and face the bleak life with the attitude of guerrilla warfare. The film is full of a deeply pessimistic universal outlook. She hates modern society, and tries her best to challenge and rebel against the patriarchal system. No matter how strong her belief in freedom is, it can't match the small power of a lonely individual, and it will eventually lead to destruction.

Vagabond quotes

  • la platonologne Mme Landier: Why did you drop out?

Mona Bergeron, sans toit ni loi: Champagne on the road's better!

  • les Bergers: She blew in like the wind. No plans, no goals... No wishes, no wants... We suggested things to her. She didn't want to do a thing. Wandering? That's withering. By proving she's useless, she helps a system she rejects. It's not wandering, it's withering.
