What is spiritual belonging? Is there an emotional sustenance, guilt-free for anyone, or someone who loves himself? Every character in the film has their own desires.
At the beginning of the film, the complicated family relationship is explained. The ex-husband Ahmad and the French wife Marie have been separated for four years to see each other for divorce procedures. The family lives with two daughters of the senior and a son of her boyfriend. Marie told her ex-husband that her boyfriend would not come back or when he came She would tell him that her boyfriend came back that night, and from the beginning it showed that Marie had a little revenge towards her ex-husband, or it didn't matter if she had already expressed her feelings for her ex-husband. The same goes for telling him she's pregnant at the time of the divorce. Marie hopes Ahmad can help her understand Lucy, and the mystery of the movie comes up after Lucy says the reason for the disagreement - why did Samir's ex-wife commit suicide?
The second half revolves around solving this answer and deduces the dilemma of each character, and it will never go away! Ahmad can never let go of the entanglement between his hometown and marriage. Marie can never be sure that Samir loves herself, and Samir is even more uncertain that he loves the mother who may be the murderer who caused his wife to commit suicide. Even if Lucy is forgiven by her mother I'm afraid I will always forgive myself. However, the past is the past, lingering, but dare not mention it.
There is no soundtrack in the whole film, and I was reminded after reading some movie reviews at the end. Many people said that watching the movie felt boring and clichéd, but my two hours seemed to be fleeting, and it was really a complete substitution. The sound details of the environment pulled me into the scene, especially the sound of raindrops outside the door on a rainy day, the faint cry of a baby in the corridor, the continuous sound of a little boy slamming the door... In
the end, the answer was not revealed, The super-long close-up is meaningful, and the last handshake seems to hold everyone's past tightly. People, no matter how they choose, have a lingering past, and there is no right or wrong.
