Looking at the growth of Amazon and the development of Apple, it is always inseparable from some keywords, that is "project".
Entrepreneurship is essentially creating cool stuff and spreading it to the world. Entrepreneurship is not an abstract big word, it is more related to specific things such as projects, and to the words "details" and "value". Empty "strategies" and "models" cannot support the dream of starting a business.
Why can Amazon overcome the pioneers of online bookstores, the traditional bookstores and the online motley crew of traditional bookstores? Because of the details of creating value.
The first step in Amazon's growth was to steal customers from traditional bookstores. In this step, computer technology has helped Amazon a lot. Computers can make personalized recommendations based on each customer's purchase record, and this recommendation is very cheap. Just hire a smart engineer, write a recommendation algorithm, and then buy servers and software to build personalized web pages. In traditional bookstores, many old clerks who have read books are needed to make such personalized recommendations to customers. This kind of recommendation is difficult to replicate, and the radiation range of an experienced old clerk is at most one or two bookstores.
From an online bookstore to an online department store giant, Amazon has experienced the expansion of many categories. It started with books, then CDs and DVDs, then toys, electronics, and so on. Finally, it is the Everything Store we are seeing now.
Amazon's logistics network is quite strong. In order to build this network, Bezos hired some elites, and when necessary, Bezos will personally go into battle to solve the problems in the process of building the network.
So is Apple. On the way to becoming the world's largest company by market capitalization, Apple is building an empire one product at a time. There was the brilliant Apple II, the broken Lisa, the almost forgotten PowerBook, the iPod that turned the music industry upside down, the iPhone that changed the world, and the great iPad.
Between these products, there are many products that have not been mentioned. Regarding entrepreneurship, the details are what we can master, and the details of creating value are also the source of entrepreneurs' return. As for the big words of strategy, it's not that important. Even Vision is less important than valuable details.
There's a lot to be said about this movie. Because Jobs is so famous, everyone can say a few words, and everyone has a Jobs in their eyes. Making this movie was really a thankless thing.
If you want to silence others, explore the unknown and create value. Because they don't know anything about the unknown, they want to criticize and can't speak. Of course, your exploration has to create value.
The lighting and atmosphere of the movie are well done. Certain scenes make the blood boil. The set is also very thoughtful, and the feeling of the hippie era is in place.
However, I don't think the movie does a good job of explaining how Jobs polished off an almost perfect product and then shook the world. Applause and cheers are beautiful, and a desperate counterattack is even more beautiful, but if you don't tell others the way to achieve it, no matter how beautiful it is, it will also be suspected of being chicken soup for the soul.
