Although the real case is very different from the movie, such a plot is not an exaggeration. Every time I watch such movies that reflect social reality, I have a deep sense of depression, so I always hope that the bad guys will get their retribution in the end, just like the kind of exhilarating I see when watching The Shawshank Redemption. People rely on literary and artistic works because the reality is not satisfied. Otherwise, why do everyone hope that the ending is a happy ending? When a man is locked up in a dungeon and brutally abused, he rises up to resist, and maybe after a while he finds himself powerless to fight, so he gives in, just to survive. In the end, he found that no matter how he behaved, the abuse was still there, and that's it. So he was so desperate that he told the lawyer that I just needed a friend, and it would be nice to have a friend to talk to.
I think the biggest highlight of this article is Kevin Bacon's acting skills, it's really great! Especially at the end of the movie, thinking of Kevin's fear of the prison, and returning to the prison again, he will be more or less timid, but he is so hunched, staggering to the warden and issuing his own declaration!
ps: Gary Goodman can make people hate it every time he plays a bad guy~
