Tim Robbins plays a Vietnam War veteran plagued by nightmares in this psychological thriller. Written by Bruce Joel Rubin ("Ghosts") and directed by Adrian Lane ("Fatal Attraction," "The Flash Dance"), the lead actor wanders between dreams, memories, hallucinations and supernatural visions. Various problems also emerged.

Watching guide:

In many ways, Floating Beyond has reached the heights he aspired to, but the film itself is a victim of its own accomplishments.

A masterpiece—whether a stage play, a sculpture, an album, or a film—exhausts the character of the medium itself. For example, the advantage of a stage play is that the live actors can adjust the performance according to the atmosphere in the theater. Neither novels nor movies can do that. If you go to see a great show, your presence must be one of the factors in his success. Otherwise, it would be better to adapt the play into something else.

"Falling in Another World" is a very cinematic movie. The ever-beautiful Tim Robbins delivers a deep and powerful performance for the Vietnam Veteran; writer Bruce Joel Rubin's story goes from the battlefields of Vietnam to the crowded streets of Brooklyn, from sweaty ballrooms to bizarre frontiers Asylum; director Adrian Lane uses a lot of smoke, multiple film rhythms, and dizzying special effects on the edge of the shot to present a bizarre picture.

It must be mentioned that despite these advantages, as a product of a mainstream Hollywood company, the film was not successful when it was first released (160 million RMB at the box office). A major reason is that he lacks a retellable element, the plot basis.
Without the basis of the plot, it is difficult for film critics to start with "Yi" and it is not convenient for the audience to introduce it to others. It also leads to something else that makes the film overlooked: the lack of a plot. It's just an emotional movie, and it's restless.

Some of the supernatural pictures in "Different" will make people think that he is a horror movie, but the purpose of this film is not to be scary, but to make people feel anxious and unbearable when they are in the situation. Although there is no problem in doing so, ordinary audiences do not actively pursue this sensory experience.

Alien seems to be an out-of-the-ordinary Hollywood movie that's deliberately hard to describe. Even so, it's a well-made movie.
