bland human rights movie

The whole movie is straightforward, without special effects, humor and other eye-catching advantages of modern fast food movies. If you let people with less knowledge watch it, it may be rated as "bad movie".
But the whole movie tells about an era born in racism and finally seeing the problem of racial discrimination resolved in one's lifetime - Obama, the first black American president in history - that kind of relief, excitement and emotion is really touching . The issue of human rights is also really thought-provoking. Patriarchal and homophobic discrimination will have the same results as black Americans in the near future.

After pretending to be "Forrest Gump" and going around so much, in the end, it still praised Obama's main theme political film, so that I thought that the final subtitles would see [Democratic Party Presents]. So many stars are too much to make people play, and the editing is bad.

It's been a long time since I watched a biographical film. The whole narrative is very smooth and concise, and the portrayal of the black movement is very deep and realistic.

Lee Daniels' The Butler quotes

  • Cecil Gaines: America has always turned a blind eye to what we done to our own. We look out to the world and judge. We hear about the concentration camps but these camps went on for two hundred years right here in America.
