What would you do if, one night, the sky was so dark that there was no gap, and there was another person in your quiet and comfortable bed, and a lot of dirty little footprints suddenly appeared on the ground? Panic, or ecstatic?
That's what happened to Jim and Cindy, and were ecstatic because it was brought in by a sweet little boy. For the couple who have tried for many years and still have no children, it is really great luck.
The little boy was named Timothy, about ten years old, with emerald green leaves on his legs, and called Jim and Cindy their parents. Since then, the three have embarked on a wonderful adventure.
New parents, Jim and Cindy have no experience. Like almost all parents, they want their children to be musical, artistic, athletic, smart, hardworking and sensible. It seems not only Asian tiger mothers feel this way, but the United States as well.
It is conceivable that there are no perfect children in the world. Timothy was bullied by his classmates and could not play football. The only time he scored was an own goal. He could not play elegant music, but he could still rock and have a good talent for drawing. In general, he is an ordinary child, but his greatest advantage is that he can always look at everything in the world from an optimistic perspective.
Jim and Cindy, upset about their children's inferior skills, quarreled, like all parents. They never thought that Timothy would leave them.
When the leaves fell, Timothy would go away, just like any other child would move away when he grew up.
How real, children will always leave their parents and go to the unknown world. No matter how reluctant you are, you have to let go.
I left home relatively early. At the age of fifteen, I left home to go to high school in the county, and at eighteen I went to university in the provincial capital. In the past few years, I have been working in Shanghai and Jinan, and then came to Tianjin to study for a master's degree. From the moment I was in high school, I knew that from now on, my home was just a stopover station and a harbor for rest, but it was impossible to stay for a long time.
Is there any way? If you want to develop, you can't always stay in a small place. Sometimes I think about it, I really envy those classmates and friends who grew up in big cities, they can stay in their hometown all the time, and they can take care of family and career. And we can only leave our hometown to pursue the ideal or dream that we don't know where.
I think of Long Yingtai's "Watching Off", the relationship between parents and children is that parents follow their children's backs, and children tell them that they don't have to.
