In a simple human-to-human contest, the forty-seven warriors in this film had to fight like some mythical monsters. Perhaps the producer also took into account the gap between humans and monsters, and bluntly shaped a half-human, half-demon warrior like Kai to fight against these supernatural forces. The film arranged for him a role that was discriminated against since childhood, but loved by the princess. With a sad ending, he fulfills a mission as a samurai. When it comes to this, I have to complain. In fact, this character was not a samurai at all when his so-called daimyo was still alive, but he finally let him take on the final mission of a samurai. I really don't understand this setup. Even if you want to express the spirit of Bushido in Japan, in addition to the two sides of loyalty and cruelty, you can't take the unrelated people to this muddy water called Bushido.
The rhythm of the film is really fast and outrageous. Although I am not interested in Japanese culture, I have a somewhat shallow understanding of it. The Yamato culture developed in a short period of time and was greatly influenced by the Chinese civilization, so it has similarities in certain places. Therefore, the monsters that appear in it can be understood in terms of the "Book of Mountains and Seas". But the film creates some inexplicable images without explaining anything, such as the tengu who believes in Buddhism, and the Jiao who can turn into a fox and love to play tricks. If every character is not created with soul, the audience will naturally be at a loss. Here I can't help but secretly sweat for the American audience who may have spent money, and I don't know how they feel about these sudden roles.
Next, it's time to spit posters. Probably most people are interested in this film because they saw the poster. It stands to reason that the characters on the poster have to be an important role, but the skeleton boy who is the second most conspicuous of the poster actually doesn't even play a minute. It may be due to the requirements of the European and American markets, and most of the actors are Japanese actors who are not very well-known, so I thought of such a foolish poster design. Next, let's talk about the armored soldier. I thought there would be a wonderful fight with the protagonist, similar to the existence of a small boss, but in fact... Hey, let's not talk about it.
As for why it's okay to give such an evaluation, it can only be said that the visual effects and soundtrack are not satisfactory. But after all, these are only auxiliary parts of a movie. It can only be said that no matter how good the effect and soundtrack are, it cannot be a good movie without a plot. If you are interested, you can watch and play, and if you are not too interested, forget it.
