The ending of the movie does not tell everyone who the murderer is, everyone is just guessing. So what happened to the girl in the dark room at the end? In my analysis, the teacher did not kill those girls because the humiliation of him by the police and the public opinion attack on him by the Internet led him to want revenge on the detective. He brought the detective's daughter home for her birthday and that's it. At the end of the film, there is no evidence to prove who is the murderer. This film is about social issues. Public opinion hurts teachers, extramarital affairs hurt businessmen, and violent law enforcement hurts police detectives. These people not only hurt the younger generation. When the sheriff brought his son to the police station to educate his son, he was actually educating the audience. Because of the relationship between regional culture, the appearance of the Arab man on horseback implies that suspicion is the greatest enemy of human nature, and people live in madness. All kinds of contradictions in society kill a person, and children are the biggest victims. Rather than pretending that the teachers were the murderers, it was the fathers themselves who killed the girls.

Although it is highly recommended by Quentin, I can vaguely see some shadows of "Pulp Fiction" and "Inglourious Basterds". But it was Park Chan-wook who first reminded me. Not only because of the similarities in the theme of revenge, but also because of the well-controlled slow-motion and stark display of violence that reminds me of "I Want Vengeance." There is an air of noir that is both charming and brutal from beginning to end. There are many questions in the story that the director did not explain.

The secret room scene, tight tension thriller humor, several points are well done. But the second half was a little weak. In such a story, the one who seems to be the most silent, gentle and harmless is often the real big bad wolf. While not particularly good in the genre, it's worth a look.

Big Bad Wolves quotes

  • Micki: It might look like I'm enjoying this, and maybe I am in a way... but believe me, I'd be happy to stop breaking your fingers. Now would you please start talking!

  • Gidi: Don't you want to discuss the strategy?

    Micki: Strategy?

Gidi: You know... good cop, bad cop?

Micki: There's no room for good cops.

Gidi: No problem. Bad cop, bad cop.
