To make an analogy, this movie is like the most common narrative essay, and it is bland, even a bit like a running account narrative essay. There is no surprise plot, there is no excessive decoration, it is very straightforward. This is an adaptation of a true story, and the screenwriter does not want to be too contrived. The lack of a climax may be the most direct reason why many viewers think this movie is not good. It just lists what it wants to say and what it wants to express, telling the audience that there was such a thing in history.
Perhaps the creator himself also expected this situation. The last question, will future generations remember such a treasure hunt after many years? There was only a dry affirmative answer from an old man. They live in the life they want, and they don't need to be remembered by future generations, at least the film portrays them as such noble people.
And there are many stars in the movie, and they have to cover everything, so the plot that was not very full becomes more fragmented. In order to make up for it, I tried to make the plot more interesting and added some small plots, which made people feel a little bit nonsensical and out of place. For example, encountering a newcomer in the German army, smoking to ease the atmosphere; for example, stepping on a landmine, the most commercial part of the whole film. Another example is the most touching part. The companion plays the recorded letter of the distant relative. The actor's superb acting skills can bring you into the feeling of homesickness on the expedition. However, I just felt a little uncomfortable. As far as the actors are concerned, there is no need to say that they can be freely retracted and released. The new Oscar queens also mean to play a role that is not much better than playing soy sauce, lest the yin and yang are too incongruous.
Then I complained about some domestic propaganda posters, saying that they won a total of X Oscars and X Academy Awards. Damn, everyone knows it, but those who don't know it thinks that this is tricking the audience into the cinema to contribute to the box office. Anyway, the main creator doesn't value your box office in China. The main creator attracts so many stars to help out with his personal charm. Anyway, it is not a matter of once or twice, but this time the script tried to please some people and did not find the best solution, which was a bit of a failure.
The film wants to present such a true story to the world. It has nothing to do with business, but politics.
In the end, the biggest feeling of watching the movie is that I really want to go to Germany to see the old castle, to Belgium to see the Church of Our Lady of Bruges, and sit there listening to the pipe organ.
