Michael Mann's film had too many ideas, so it felt a bit fragmented, but luckily we got to see Gong Li. The oriental goddess contributed her candid and radiant performance.
Gong Li brings the oriental face and oriental stubbornness to the film as always. Colin Farrell in this film is neither chic nor romantic, old-fashioned and gloomy. I really can't understand what this dull face is worthy of Gong Li's love ? Obviously, the appearance of Gong Li gave the film unexpected vitality, making it plump and shiny. Therefore, the Western media called Gong Li's performance a textbook performance.
