"Allied Treasure Team" - the anti-war flag of the diamond king and fifth is flying high

I have to admit that my expectations for this film were wrong, Clooney wasn't filming the treasure hunt, he evaded the point and talked about "meaning". For such a cruel thing as war, it seems a bit pretentious to talk about literature, art and inheritance. So, is it meaningful to spend manpower, material resources, and even life for this? This handsome old man fully showed his anti-war sentiment, and he hated and criticized war from the perspective of the value of art to human beings.
The director's perspective on things and his core ideas remind me of his "The Descendants" starring in a very humanistic way, focusing on things that don't actually exist, but are actually very important, such as spirit, symbols, etc. At this level of human beings, I try to explore some concepts.
The shortcomings of this piece are also obvious. The structure is loose and the narrative is trivial. Like a plate of scattered pearls, it emits dots of light. The multi-linear development does not bring the amount of information and sense of urgency, but many people are confused.
What's more interesting about this piece is that Clooney's logo is obvious, not only full of American humor, but also a relaxed and casual way to implement it, just like the free and uninhibited figure left by the fifth diamond king to the world.

The Monuments Men quotes

  • Frank Stokes: You can wipe out an entire generation, you can burn their homes to the ground and somehow they'll still find their way back. But if you destroy their history, you destroy their achievements and it's as if they never existed. That's what Hitler wants and that's exactly what we are fighting for.

  • James Granger: Stop, stop. Stop. I seem to have stepped on a land mine... of some sort.

Frank Stokes: Why d'you do something like that?

James Granger: It was a slow day.

Frank Stokes: Well, I wouldn't move.

James Granger: I'd like to at some point.
