husband and wife

European movies are really surprising, that hunt is like that, and this one is no exception. Sometimes that total division is brought about by faith. The couple sought outside support after their daughter's death. Mother chose religion, father was very angry with that extreme fundamentalism. If the two of them had found the ever-present love and support for each other, this tragic ending probably wouldn't have happened. Either husband and wife have the same beliefs, or compromise and seek common ground while reserving differences. Most afraid of people's absolute insistence on themselves, which can create tragedy more than anything else.

Belgium's Olympic bid this year, the story of a broken family. A large number of flashback narratives intersect with beautiful bluegrass music throughout the film, sometimes intoxicating and sometimes painful. Life is so full of shocks. The disruption of the time period makes the whole story somewhat trivial and the mood is weakened. The performances of the male and female protagonists are very good, the original sound is very good~

The same narrative technique as "Blue Valentine". So sad.

The Broken Circle Breakdown quotes

  • Elise Vandevelde: I always knew. That it was too good to be true. That it couldn't last. That life isn't like that, life isn't generous. You mustn't love someone. You mustn't become attached to someone. Life begrudges you that. It takes everything away from you and it laughs in your face. It betrays you.

  • Didier Bontinck: Bye bye, birdie.

    Maybelle: Bye bye, birdie.

    Didier Bontinck: I love you.

    Maybelle: I love you too.

    Didier Bontinck: Clever girl.
