Telling the simple story of a relative search well is not easy. Even a very sincere director can easily fall into the trap of deliberate sensationalism and superficial cuteness, turning the plot into a vulgar comedy.
Jin Min obviously does not belong to this third-rate mediocrity. He uses a series of seemingly miraculous but reasonable coincidences to ingeniously link the main line of the story, the protagonist's past, and the characters' personalities together, in an orderly and intricate manner.
I still remember Uncle Gin's spit on the optimistic sister Hua: "There will always be a way, there will always be a way, and it will become the virtue it is now." In an instant, the hardships of life came to my face. .
The "Tokyo Godfather", which did not destroy the three views, did not abuse the IQ, and was separated from the magic, was regarded as mediocre by some critical audiences. But this is a bit unfair to Jin Min. "Millennium Actress" is unparalleled in its mythical fantasy and magnificence, and the cup of hot tea in "Tokyo Godfather" is equally mellow and fragrant. Isn't it the extraordinary thing about Jin Min that you can make movies of different styles? Otherwise, all the films are like "Weima's House", can children watch?
