The persistence of the dream is burdened with the transcendence of the class, which is hard to imagine. Fortunately, the film was not made into a tragic drama, relaxed music, humorous plot, and even that year's sword-drawn strike was only a matter of fact. It became the background of the scene, the best footnote to all the efforts of Billy before he jumped out of the world.
It is worth mentioning that the details are extremely attentive and intriguing: Debbie swiped the shield of the riot police with a wooden stick casually, Billy said goodbye to his grandmother without saying a word and hugged affectionately, and many places in the play are cleverly designed according to local conditions. The impromptu dance and soundtrack reflecting Billy's mood at the time kept the tone of the whole film under control of a touch of sadness and knowing joy. If the film ends with Billy reporting in and his father and brother going to the mine, the meaning may be more profound but low; leaping through the air with his father's tears and surging symphony will naturally be a brighter and more positive tomorrow.
