Reality and fantasy are not new, and what prompted me to set this category in my head was the famous red and blue pill problem in The Matrix. After that, the orthodox followers include Inception, Open Your Eyes, Reborn Men, etc. Within a certain range, there are the thirteenth ladder, comprehensive memory, confinement island, etc. that can be included in this system. They all ask similar questions: live in reality or fantasy, which one do you choose?
Why do we need fantasies? It is because some of our desires cannot be achieved in reality, and it is the easiest way to achieve it in fantasy. To say it is ugly is to deceive yourself. For example, the protagonist of Inception reunites with his wife and children in fantasy, the protagonist of The Matrix lives a comfortable life in fantasy, and the protagonist of Rebirth becomes a hero in fantasy. And so on.
Isn't it too tempting to take this possibility to the extreme in this film, you can be whoever you want to be in your fantasy, and see what you want to see? At first glance, there is nothing wrong with choosing a fantasy life, but I think the serious consequences it brings can be directly referred to as drug addicts. Of course, there is also another possibility. As shown in The Matrix, human beings are like crops lying in the culture solution, exporting biological energy to the world in exchange, but at this time, the master of the world would not use this biological energy. Absolutely a few clean tycoons, or simply inhumans.
But fantasy is not useless for us. It can let the protagonist relive the warmth of being with his son like in this film, it can provide inspiration for the creator, and it can take a fantasy journey to relax and entertain himself like in Total Recall. But fantasy should serve reality after all. Like all things with two sides, the key depends on how we choose to use it. to unleash its positive energy.
One question remains, how do you determine that you are in "reality"? You can't be sure until you don't have enough evidence. Then stick to the simple principle, choose to believe that this is the only world you have and roll around in it!
