get equal rights and opportunities

The story begins with a black woman who was randomly raped by a white man, and her husband dared not say a word, and was killed at will. A black man changes from being submissive to fighting for the equal treatment he deserves.
Rather than talking about the life of the housekeeper, it is better to say that it is a microcosm of the struggle for freedom and equality of black Americans.
It is a very profound film, with the shadow of an Oscar film, and it is estimated that it will win several awards next year.
It ends with the election of Obama as President of the United States.
The closing sentence "Whether all Americans will have equal rights and opportunities, this is the effort of all black Americans for their American life", made me think of the other side of the earth, well, here it is.
Movies worth watching.

It is eloquently told, inadvertently and deeply touching; in the film, the pain of the black double self-consciousness being torn apart is not triggered, and it is handled just right.

Lee Daniels' The Butler quotes

  • Freddie Fallows: Are you political, Mr. Gaines?

    Cecil Gaines: No, sir.

Freddie Fallows: Good. We have no tolerance for politics at the White House.

  • Richard Nixon: I don't want to say anything negative about that Kennedy boy. I'm sure he's a real nice fellow. But do you really want that spoiled rich son-of-a-bitch fuck to be your next president?
