Going through a lifetime is not ordinary

An ordinary life can become extraordinary as long as you put your heart into it. In Mr. Holland's life, there were too many frustrations and compromises. I thought I could do what I like to do after four or five years of teaching, but I ended up teaching for 30 years. I thought I could train my son to be a musical genius, but my son was born deaf, and he couldn't create a miracle. In the end, the school was cancelled. After all his music lessons, his struggles didn't work. Even so, he went on like this year after year, treating every student with heart.
He is not a weirdo, nor a maverick, just an ordinary teacher with an ordinary personality. Students graduated one after another, social and political turmoil, war, human rights movement, Kennedy's assassination, Nixon's resignation... Each and every one of the most influential figures has come and gone, and Mr. Holland is still there.
Not everyone can be a blockbuster and gain both fame and fortune, but if you can do ordinary work conscientiously, live every day, accumulate year after year, and let your life continue to a certain length, it is already amazing.

PS. By the way, let's sigh about the makeup technology in the United States. The time span of the film is very large. The technology helps create a more realistic sense of age and gives the actors enough space for expression. I really want to know how many years China is behind in terms of technology. . . .

For a love of music and music education, it's not hard to see a passion beyond the fun part.

Glenn Holland: I can't say that I have, no.
