I can guess the beginning, but I can't guess the end

As a person who learns French himself, before watching it, I felt that the title of the movie was too straightforward or even too vulgar and uninspired.
I have always liked the style of American films, and I always felt that European films, especially French films, were a bit too literary and too high-pitched, but this film taught me a lesson, don’t talk about the region.
The two characters on the poster and an "Amour" made me guess what this film is going to tell, which is nothing more than the story of two twilight old men. The two old people walked hand in hand for a large part of their lives, not much, probably basically did not tell their past, the beautiful stories of their youth. Because L'Amour, what we think should happen in the most beautiful years, and this film is only about the present.
Except for the theater and the bus scene at the beginning of the film, the whole story takes place in a small scene - their apartment until the end. But the whole film doesn't have much depressing atmosphere, on the contrary, what I feel is the little bit of love that the two old people showed in their lives after the old lady fell ill.
In addition to the piano music played at the request of the grandmother when the old lady's lover came to visit the second old man, the old man imagined the old lady playing the piano song and the last song that the old man forgot to play due to poor memory. (And of course there are a few scenes of CD music played by Er Lao). There is no other superfluous post score for the entire film, even during the final credits. How much confidence and strength can this be. I watch most movies that touch me, how important it is to have the right background music! As the saying goes, if there is no sound, no matter how good the show will be! But, this movie does it! With the superb performance of the director and two veteran actors. In life, there is a dull dialogue between two people. How can there be a piece of sensational music from time to time, unless we can make up our own minds. So I think this is also a point of the life-like reality of this literary film.
The misfortune of the old lady is because of her illness; the luck of the old lady is because of her life. Her illness not only brought her physical pain, but also psychologically tormented the self-respecting artist, which made her childish and sensitive. Fortunately, her life is not bad, there is a person who cherishes her, understands her, and takes care of her until the last moment of her life.
Throughout the film, the people around the two elders expressed sympathy and concern for the old lady, but ignored or did not give reasonable attention to another person, the old man. Because the whole story is supported by the old man! Without him, perhaps the old woman would not have the courage to live! He refused the old woman's request for relief; he ignored his daughter's objection and did not send the old woman to a nursing home. He did his best to take care of the old woman; he dismissed a carer who thought he took good care of him and was reviled by him; he was too old to be seen by others because of his self-esteem. He blocked everything that would hurt or could hurt the old lady with his already staggering body. And always, no one gave him a hug! Even his daughter, after seeing the old lady's unbearable condition, just cried. Instead, it was the concierge who said that the couple admired the old couple very much. This was to praise the old lady and the old man together. From the beginning to the end, the old man never cried out that he was tired or shed a single tear.
One morning, the old lady was in pain again. In order to reduce the pain of the old lady, the old man took her hand and told her an embarrassing thing about his childhood. The old lady listened and fell asleep without crying. Just when I was moved by this warm scene and thought that the ending would be a scene where the old man attends the funeral of the old lady. At this moment, the old man covered the old lady's head with the pillow. This scene lasted for a long time, so that I thought it was an impulse of the old man several times, and he could not bear to take the pillow away. However, in the end, when I found out that the old lady finally stopped struggling, I had to admit that he did it...and it took a lot of determination. Then, the old man wrote letters calmly, bought flowers, and handled everything. Finally, when he was lying on the bed, he vaguely heard the sound of washing dishes in the kitchen, and went out to see that it was her! So he followed "her" and left the apartment where they had lived all their lives, as if possessed by a demon, without nostalgia.
It turns out that the simplest words contain the most profound and precious things.
