There is always a bit of truth behind the falsehood. Losing it means gaining it.

I'm a very immersive person, maybe I didn't realize until Oldman came home from the last auction that the girl was definitely gone, and the painting was gone. Let’s talk about some of my ideas about

paintings –

these paintings are paintings in whose hands they will not be destroyed. The key is that Oldman’s life-long collection is gone, and his life’s hard work is gone. Is it true for him? Is it really a bad thing? He is not short of money, and he can live well without paintings.

Alone in the studio, Oldman looked at the portraits of women on the wall. To him
, those portraits were no longer simple paintings. To him, they were like women accompanying his lonely soul. I think that Oldman quickly came out of the pain of losing the famous paintings, because he had the girl in his heart who made him really understand the taste of love, and it was the girl who made his heart go away from the people in the paintings It came out to make up for the lack of life.

So, when he wanted to call the police, he gave up. Personally, he thought it was because he didn't think it was all a scam. In it, there are true feelings, harvests, and good memories.

Robot -

One of the main lines of the story that has always attracted us to watch is the robot, and the whole story has been assembling the robot, drawing the audience's attention to it, and looking forward to the incredible miracles that will happen when it is finished.
Just like in the past, everyone thought that the robot could really talk to people and answer people's questions, but in fact, because it was a dwarf hidden under it
, the robot was finally completed, and the truth was revealed, that is, the truth is the fact that it is an illusion. . .

The assembly of the robot is a metaphor for the development of the story. Finally, we know that the truth of the robot is not high-tech, and the truth of the story is also a well-designed love hoax. The mechanic's recording shattered all conjectures instantly.

The truth does exist -

but it's not all illusion, the truth is hidden in the illusion.
Just like the fact that the robot is a dwarf, it is only hidden in a carefully packaged illusion, we cannot deny everything. Although the truth of the story is an illusion, just like the metaphor of the robot, the girl's feelings may really have true feelings in it.

In the part where the girl ran away, I personally felt that it was not within the expectations of the planner Billy. Maybe she found that she was beginning to have feelings and could not bear to deceive any more, but she was finally persuaded to come back. So Billy will say that paragraph, that is, there is always a bit of truth behind the fake.

In the end, I really admire the director's ingenuity. The truth of the robot lies in the dwarf, and the truth of the whole story lies in the dwarf girl. She is the real Claire.

Thanks Tonatore, I have always liked his work.

  • Claire: In an old article of yours I found on the internet, you said: There's something authentic in every forgery. What did you mean?

Virgil Oldman: When simulating another's work the forger can't resist the temptation to put in something of himself. Often it's just a trifle, a detail of no interest. One unsuspected stroke, by which the forger inevitably ends up betraying himself, and revealing his own utterly authentic sensibilities.

  • Claire: I'm not in the habit of speaking to people very much.

Virgil Oldman: Believe me, that's considerable stroke of good fortune. Talking to people is extremely perilous. However, it was you who made the call, so you're running the risk.
