A long-awaited genre film that ended in my heart with a broken image. For someone like me who used to enjoy watching gay movies, it's less and less involved. Why? It's not that they are all poorly shot, but that the more the actors are chosen, the worse they are. In dozens of films a year, no beauty can be found. Even if you are only young and beautiful, even if you are just pleasing to the eye, even if you have a big bird. There can never be nothing. If you don't have anything, just go and shoot other types of films honestly, why bother with this muddy water.
In fact, looking back on this film, the artistic conception and connotation are there. The beautiful lake light, the quiet and somewhat heart-wrenching atmosphere, the gentle suspense, and the storyline of comrades' floating paintings. The film doesn't go too deep, but several conversations have shown the living and psychological state of such a group of comrades well.
The biggest downfall, however, was the "ugly" character (I really wanted to use a disrespectful word like "ugly"). The big bird swaying on the edge of the water frequently appeared on the camera and chatted. The two main characters cannot be described as mediocre. If you want to have no looks, or have no body, you can swim and swim, but what's the use.
Perhaps this is the wise thing, and it is also the trend of more and more gay films now - no longer catering to Yan control and curiosity, let the gay image go down the "altar" and return to the essential life. Let all the rotten girls see, you rotten are always straight men, the real gays are actually very common, and most of them are not very eye-catching.
This is so wrong. Again, since you have the label of "comrade", you should have a sense of responsibility. Yes, not all gays have big breasts and hips, but if you change the male and female protagonists of ordinary romance films, they will lose points if they don't look good. Not to mention the expectations that come with gay films.
Or you can be completely pure. Like "Love of Siam", it's clean, the limit is a kiss, and the two actors are definitely in line with the supreme standard of Yan control. Like "Brokeback Mountain", it is profound enough, beautiful enough, and touching enough. At the same time, the length of the two men is also the level of Hollywood No. 1. Like "Weekend Time", it is directly made into a slapstick film to narrate the depth and connotation you want to express.
This "Lakeside" is full of birds at the beginning, and then the scale is really small. So unpretentious, I really want to poke my eyes at it.
So, either don't make gay films. Since you do, you should first know what the mission of this genre is to live up to. You may not be able to write a good script, you may be short of funds, you may not be able to hire big names, but you must have a pair of eyes that can discover beauty! Good looks and good figure are just two indicators. You can refer to SeanCody~ The sex scenes are either not filmed, or they are beautiful if they are to be filmed. It is better not to just hum and rub the thighs.
It's really not easy to make gay films. But since you've chosen the hard path, try to walk it well.
