I watched it on the train a few years ago, and then I probably didn't watch it when the MP4 was out of power, and I probably forgot to watch it when I came back.
But after watching it today, I feel that I have seen the last scene, but why did I not remember the part about the death of the child at all?
Maybe because I fast-forwarded to the end at the time, or because I was too resistant to the content, I didn't remember it at all.
Many things are unclear and cannot be remembered. I remember seeing the boy saying that there are too many of us, so I stopped watching.
Is this a story of dream and reality? Why is it so difficult to hold on to your dreams, yet people are so persistent.
The teacher Jude met in his childhood told him when he left that he had to go to college, read books, and take every opportunity to study.
Only then can you be admitted to university, you can study whatever you want to study when you go to university, and you can do whatever you want.
Because only then can you choose your own future.
Then a girl seduces him and they get married and have a hard life.
The bold woman felt that she was dragging him down, so she left him and let him realize her ideal.
He went to the city he longed for, but he never had the chance, and despite his hard work, he still couldn't go to university.
There, he met his cousin, and they fell in love.
When she found out that he was married, she left in anger and married someone else.
But she always loved Jude, and when they met again, she left that person and they were finally together.
At that time, the woman once said that she had given birth to their child after she left. Jude took the child home.
Later, they had two more children. Because they were not married, they were always expelled and wandered everywhere.
Jude said they did nothing wrong and just moved again and again until the world changed.
Later, because Su said that there were too many people in the family, Jude's eldest son killed his younger brother and sister, and died himself.
The night before, the boy had asked Jude: If there are too many children in the world, why do people have children?
He said: "I don't know, maybe people are in love. Maybe they didn't think about it, that's how it is.
Sue couldn't stand Jude's son killing her children, believing it was God punishing them, and left.
Jude told her it was an accident, not a verdict, and they did nothing wrong, but they couldn't keep her.
They had a very beautiful love, went to play on bicycles together, and read poems together. How happy they were when they read poetry!
"Whenever I see him, my heart is shaken. His charming eyes, gentle smile, melt my heart."
When she was in pain, he said: You make me hate Christianity and God, I hate things that cause you pain.
Jude never got into college, and I was worried he would complain that women got in his way, but he didn't.
In a life of hardship and wandering, he said to Su: We did nothing wrong, you made me understand this truth.
When someone asked about his pursuit, he said: People always change.
Do you regret it when someone asks him? He said: No matter who asks this question, it is difficult to answer. It is the same whether you follow your dreams and achieve nothing, or give up your dreams and let life be at the mercy of them. When I first came to Christminster, my purpose was clear, but the older I got, the more indecisive I became. Who knows what a good man in life looks like? What is going on behind the back of the man under the sun?
He said he liked it very much, although people there looked down on him, and self-study required a lot of determination.
Sue said: And you're also a very dreamer, a quixotic figure, but you're like St. Steve, people throw stones at you, and you see heaven.
And she loves that kind of man. Jude finds a job, and together they look forward to a better life in the future.
But it's all over. She said bitterly that they were wrong, that they should be punished, that they should not be in love.
Finally, they meet at the cemetery, and Jude asks her to come back to him, but she leaves without hesitation.
Looking at her sad back in the ice and snow, Jude shouted loudly:
If there is only one couple in this world, it is us.
I must have seen the last scene. This is really sad. Dreams and love should not be in conflict.
A dream is such a beautiful thing, giving people longing, always holding on to hope, and feeling light and warmth in a cold world.
But when it comes to reality, it becomes so difficult and deeply frustrating. This is a world where dreams are not allowed.
However, if there is no dream and love, how can you comfort your soul?
I don't think it's scary that the dream can't be realized. What's scary is that it starts to shake, and it feels the same whether there is a dream or not.
If you give up your dreams and love, how can you live in the monotonous and cold real world?
