misplaced dream

I watched this film by dragging in many places, not because I don't like snails, nor because the film's technology is not skilled, nor because I deny the values promulgated by the film, why? Because the film is so "flat", you can almost predict the development of each scene in the next minute, and you can't see the ups and downs of the plot. Some people have said that turbo's ideals have been frustrated, depressed and sad, and have almost died unexpectedly. Isn't it enough ups and downs? All I can say is that these are really clichés for mature film art.
The director decided to subvert the biggest feature of snails: slow! In fact, this is very difficult, because all people's impressions of snails are inseparable from the slow feature. If you want to describe snails in this opposite dimension, you need to do more work to make the audience think it is believable. , its own difficulty can be imagined. ok, it doesn't matter, the snail gets faster, but you have to give a reason first. Could it be that the speed of snails becomes faster when they are soaked in nitrous oxide? You thought it was Mentos and Coke, comrade! Not to mention that this magical snail stayed in the combustion chamber of the engine unscathed for a while before it "transformed" into a god, your sister, this goes against basic common sense! Such a sloppy way of obtaining superpowers directly reduces the rationality of the entire film. Although it is a cartoon, the imagination must be rational, and the imagination should be a wild horse instead of a wild horse!
The interaction between animal figures and humans is also a big problem. Usually, due to the anthropomorphism of animals, there is already a lot of room for play, and the description of the relationship with people has become a difficult point, so most films try to downplay the direct contact between people and animals (animation) images, but focus on portraying its own activities in the human world. But this film has made the two sides involved in each other's world too much, not to mention the snail's expression and language incomprehensible to humans, not to mention that the snail actually participated in the Indy 500 Grand Prix...
The plot of this film is too simple, It's just that silly snail got super powers, then entered the grand prix, and then won the championship, so bland. This kind of plot makes people even drag the progress bar to watch the scene of snail racing, because turbo has never really lost, okay? Nima is the rhythm of all kinds of soul possessions!
Not to mention the mediocrity of the lines, the opening sentence "no dream is too big, and no dreamer too small" expresses the gist of the film, except for this sentence, the lines have few bright spots. A good dream has become a daydream.
However, the film at least conveys such a feeling: as long as there is a dream, anything is possible! As the song says: the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true.

  • Turbo: Snails don't have money. Or else they'll have to pay the bills. Remember?

Whiplash: Your trash talk is needlessly complicated!

Turbo: Is it? Or is it that your unpaid bills... are overdue?
