FBI Director Edgar Hoover (played by Leonardo DiCaprio), who is over seventy years old, was invited by "Criminal Records" to dictate his personal memoirs. Hoover told the ghostwriter of his memoirs his important life journey since 1919: arresting left-wing leaders, arresting notorious gang leaders, solving the Lindbergh kidnapping that shocked the United States, and so on. According to Hoover's account, he defied all opposition, reorganized the FBI, introduced high-tech investigative methods, and devoted himself to the peace and stability of American society. On the other hand, his private life has become the part he tries to hide.
