The whole story takes place in Hong Kong, which is naturally more intimacy. It is not easy to portray Hong Kong in the 1950s and 1960s. The pictures presented in the film cannot be described as exquisite. The appearance of rickshaws seems to be too much. What moved me the most was how the relationship between people was established and maintained in those days. The movie Difficult Brother Difficulty tells that everyone is for me and I am for everyone, and this movie is about nostalgia.
Isn't it about Ye Wen? Yes, it's just that Ip Man is like a pebble, the pebble fell into the bucket of water in Hong Kong, and the story is the ripples caused by the pebble. These ripples are full of nostalgia, the most obvious being the friendship between master, apprentice and fellow disciple. In addition, with Zeng Zhiwei's recognition of heroes and heroes, and the separation of life and death from his wife, the dying visit of the singer all symbolized the importance of love and righteousness at that time.
In addition to the art design, the film also uses other techniques and details to reconstruct the characteristics of the times. For example, Hong Tianming introduced the apprentices with a voice-over at the beginning, which is very similar to the radio drama. In the middle of the story, Ip Man met an old acquaintance in his hometown, and he was happy to have a meal together, but he brought the tragedy of selling his son to support the family. This provocative paragraph basically has nothing to do with the story, so the emphasis is not on Ip Man, but on that era.
Of course, talking about Ye Wen must talk about kung fu. Huang Qiusheng's Wing Chun and movie styles are very unified, with clear and neat moves. It's a bit exaggerated to make a riot in the Kowloon Walled City, but the action design has changes and layers, and the viewing experience is not bad.
Ip Man is a low-key person, and I believe that he never expected his own story to become a craze in the film industry. The three Ip Man films I have watched have different things in focus, and all of them are of a good standard. Movies are sometimes really magical.
