a different attitude to life

The film tells the story of a nearly paralyzed man who desires sex and love.

Feel it a little bit.

1. I like the female therapist's clothes except for the orange floral dress. I like the style of the dress, and the necklace is also good. The Chinese nurse looked really wise and cunning, with an empathetic smile. The male lead is so good, so disgusting. The pastor, quite cute, although ugly.
2. About sex. It's a film with sex as the theme and center, yet it doesn't feel sleazy or obscene in the narrative. The hero and heroine are very comfortable naked, as if everything is normal and as it should be. The heroine's profession is something I've never heard of -- "sex therapist", helping disabled people have sex. At the beginning of the film, she emphasizes the difference between herself and prostitutes. Yes, they have too much in common with prostitutes - a way that strangers can enter at will, exchanging their bodies for money. But the difference is that it's a dedicated profession -- a bedtime psychologist. Under her guidance, he slowly realized the most beautiful feeling in the world, he realized the joy of sex and the tenderness of love. They make "sex" clear, transparent, and even filled with the beauty of sunlight.
3. The division of labor in American society. In this film, we can see more professional nurses, part-time nurses for college students, psychologists, sex therapists, and social workers in hospitals—these are very humanized career settings that we do not have at all. Of course, just to enjoy a movie, it is better not to be on the line. All in all, I still like the human touch. And the counselor's husband seems to us to eat and wait for death every day, but that is an acceptable living state.
4. About religion. The counselor and the male protagonist were lying on the bed discussing the belief of the female protagonist, and the male protagonist said, "It's better to get insurance." Yes, it is. I think it is a very happy thing to have faith. At least you have a last support and waiting, instead of fighting alone in this world, constantly making your heart stronger. Like this paralyzed male protagonist, he can have his own pastor as the object of his confession - he can "confess" when he blames himself, and he can seek comfort when he is helpless. What a happiness this is! In this way, will it not be necessary to experience the loneliness of life? Because God is with you. The female therapist also converted to Judaism after the session, and finally, she found inner peace.
5. About love and tolerance. In this film, there are five women around the male protagonist - three nurses, a sex therapist and a social worker. In fact, everything originated from his dissatisfaction with the first social worker, so next, he developed feelings with the following women. The first college student carer sparked his interest in women—a desire for love and a curiosity about sex. However, this is one-way. This counselor has very complete relevant knowledge and good professional quality. Although transference and countertransference emerged in the course of therapy—a poet always appeals to women—she handled it well, holding it back and preventing unpleasant things from happening. In the end, the poet and the social worker developed a stable relationship. In tolerance, we can compare the college student's boyfriend to the counselor's husband. In fact, at first, I couldn't quite understand which man would agree to his lover to engage in such a profession. Later, when he said that he was a philosopher, a philosopher who was thinking about himself at home, I could understand it. And after the husband discovered the love letter, although he was furious, he also apologized at night.
Also, let's learn from it - don't trust your wife's forgiveness easily, haha.

Finally, I would like to say that as a male poet, even if he is paralyzed, he is still diligent and able to hook up with girls. I also want to say that I really admire the profession of sex therapists, which requires professional knowledge, empathy, broad tolerance, strength in the face of public opinion, and the courage to immediately curb empathy. It's a profession full of dedication, and it's worth paying tribute to.

    It feels weird and sincere

It's all about sex, but it's unusually pure, even a little holy and divine. Mutilated limbs and missing sex rise to the search for the meaning of life. The ending is a bit rushed, and the emotional stretch is a bit limited. Very porridge Hawks voice.
