A film that is still great today!

I never watched this film for a long time, hesitating whether to watch it or not. Finally watched it today. I was wrong! Should have seen it sooner!

This movie is so good, it's perfect. Plot, characters, lines, etc. At the beginning, I thought that the people in this play were so interesting, with personality, humor, intelligence, delicacy, and good expression...including the housekeeper who was not very good at hearing.

When I saw the back, I was worried that the ending would be the same as "First Degree Fear", as expected!

Whenever I watch such old films, I remember how many modern and recent films and series I have seen, especially Chinese ones (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan of course) are "paying tribute to others". Don't talk about the plot and techniques, just some bridges are "learning" from other people's old classics.

For example, when the male protagonist in this film met his wife. When he said he wanted to help her find the organ, he stepped on the organ and made a noise. He looked at her awkwardly and said, "I think I have found it". I don't know how many times I've seen this scene in other dramas, and it's also in Jackie Chan's movies.

A film that is still great today! Omg, this is from 1957!

The film can be divided into three parts: 40 minutes of character display and case introduction, 1 hour of court battles and 8 minutes of reversal. Every part is wonderful and smooth. The image of the righteous and lovely fat lawyer is very vivid, and even the supporting roles such as the prosecution lawyer and the judge are very interesting. 56-year-old Marlene Dietrich can actually play such a beautiful femme fatale, it is amazing! //20170708 Archives big screen. still five stars

    A near-perfect movie. The final spoiler-proof reminder is really thoughtful. . .

Judge: My dear madame. Considering the rubbish that is being talked nowadays, you are missing very little.

  • Leonard Vole: But this is England, where I thought you never arrest, let alone convict, people for crimes they have not committed.

Sir Wilfrid: We try not to make a habit of it.
