Reality is cruel, human nature is complex

After watching: "Black Book" is different from ordinary war movies. It does not have too much masking and stylization, and the description of history and characters is very real. The heroine is a Jew. The film describes her suffering, not only from the persecution of the Nazis, but also from her own camp, from the rejection of her religious identity by ordinary Dutch families when she took refuge, to the response of members of resistance organizations to whether they should be rescued. The differences arose among the Jews, and even after the victory, they were treated as traitors, stripped naked and poured dung all over their bodies, and were humiliated... At this time, it was difficult to tell who was the righteous side and who was the victim. The heroine herself is a victim, breaking into the enemy's interior in order to resist the Nazis, however, justice is not served and respected after the victory. Similarly, for ordinary Dutch people, they were originally the righteous and victimized, but they were outright perpetrators when they discriminated against Jews and insulted their own people. Perhaps the film wants to tell us: reality is cruel and human nature is complex.
