Say a few impressions

It was a very long movie, and I finally finished watching it with some scraps of time. Say a few impressions.

== Spectacular ==

The period when Farah visited the fortification, especially the scene where the blue, green and red flags were used to control the erection of the stele, really scared me. How many extras does it take? In the old version of Romance of the Three Kingdoms, it feels like there have never been so many people.

Moreover, the small details of these big scenes are also done well. Even in the non-focus of the lens, people are doing their own thing, not like a stick of wood.

The special effects are also very impressive, representative, even if Moses split the Red Sea. A film made 57 years ago, depending on the conditions at the time, really didn't know how it could be done.

== Exotic ==

When I saw the second half, I was already a little groggy. Suddenly, I was awakened by the dance of Jethro's daughters. The enthusiastic dance of the girls and the lively music were really amazing.

== Deified == Does

n't it mean that Moses was an introvert, had a language barrier, and had to rely on his brother Aaron to express his opinions publicly? In this movie, Moses took care of it all by himself.

It is a case of discovering that foreigners also deify people.

== Consciousness before helping people ==

When Moses "requested Pharaoh to free his slaves" and the result was only "no bricks made from straw", he was immediately besieged by angry slaves. Looking at his indifferent expression, I think he was mentally prepared for "not being understood or even being hurt" before helping him.

== Fairy tale ==

Moses led the Israelites out of the shackles of slaves to the land flowing with milk and honey - Canaan. This event brought happiness to the Israelites, but it brought real disaster to the natives of Canaan.

The arrival of the Israelites smeared the entire territory of Canaan with blood. Among them, the Canaanite city of Jericho was slaughtered by them.

The only thing I still remember is the sentence that has been repeated countless times: So let it be written, so it shall be done.

    It turned out to be such an old movie, the lines are so good, the actor's face is so good, the acting is even more gorgeous, the plot is so bloody, I like it

    The 58-year-old film had the same special effects as the gods when watching it at the time. Now, if you watch it now, you will still feel the technology at that time. It is an epic of the origin of Western religions.

The Ten Commandments quotes

  • Sephora: Which of my sisters did you choose?

    Moses: I made no choice, Sephora.

    Sephora: She was very beautiful, wasn't she? This woman of Egypt, who left her scar upon your heart. Her skin was white as curd, her eyes green as the cedars of Lebanon, her lips, tamarisk honey. Like the breast of a dove, her arms were soft... and the wine of desire was in her veins.

    Moses: Yes. She was beautiful... as a jewel.

    Sephora: A jewel has brilliant fire, but it gives no warmth. Our hands are not so soft, but they can serve. Our bodies not so white, but they are strong. Our lips are not perfumed, but they speak the truth. Love is not an art to us. It's life to us. We are not dressed in gold and fine linen. Strength and honor are our clothing. Our tents are not the columned halls of Egypt, but our children play happily before them. We can offer you little... but we offer all we have.

    Moses: I have not little, Sephora. I have nothing.

    Sephora: Nothing from some... is more than gold from others.

    Moses: You would fill the emptiness of my heart?

    Sephora: I could never fill all of it, Moses, but I shall not be jealous of a memory.

  • Narrator: Ladies and gentlemen, young and old, this may seem an unusual procedure, speaking to you before the picture begins, but we have an unusual subject - the story of the birth of freedom - the story of Moses. As many of you know, the Holy Bible omits some 30 years of Moses' life... From the time, when he was a three-month old baby, and was found in the bulrushes, by Bithiah, the daughter of Pharaoh and adopted into the court of Egypt, until he learned that he was Hebrew and killed the Egyptian. To fill in those missing years, we turn to ancient historians, such as Philo and Josephus. Philo wrote at the time when Jesus of Nazareth walked the earth and Josephus wrote some 50 years later, and watched the destruction of Jerusalem, by the Romans. These historians had access to documents long since destroyed - or perhaps lost, like the Dead Sea Scrolls. The theme of this picture is whether men ought to be ruled by God's law, or whether they are to be ruled by the whims of a dictator, like Rameses. Are men the property of the state or are they free souls under God? This same battle continues throughout the world today. Our intention was not to create a story, but to be worthy of a divinely inspired story, created 3,000 years ago, the five books of Moses. The story takes three hours and 39 minutes to unfold. There will be an intermission. Thank you for your attention.
