As for the scale, I personally think it is the icing on the cake for this wonderful story. Behind the real martyrdom, there are many truths that are far more terrifying than the movie.
In the end, I personally feel that it is heartwarming. In the end, Anna's tragic situation could not make her despair, which is why the eyes of the martyrs mentioned by the cult appeared.
