The purpose of registering a vest is to tell everyone that it is not an over-interpretation at all. The screenwriter of the film is obviously to insinuate the society's attitude towards HIV. Isolation, then the close-up of the family nurse wearing gloves, and the patient's own understanding of the disease's drugs, are completely a true portrayal of HIV in the real society.
Of course, there's the gay part, and the religious part, and I'm just surprised that so many reviews don't even mention HIV.
