After Viewing-To the great Gatsby

I've heard about this movie before, but haven't seen it for various reasons. A colleague just bought this book a few days ago, so I think I should understand it. To be honest, I didn’t have a very deep feeling when I watched it, probably because I’ve never done something so touching for a person, and I’ve never liked a person so deeply, so I couldn’t achieve that kind of resonance, and I couldn’t understand how a person could be. Will like another person for so many years...

Seeing Gatsby throwing a grand party opposite her house in order to attract Daisy's attention, preparing meticulously for "accidental encounter" Daisy, and saying that she had bumped into it in order to protect Daisy Man, until the last lonely death, I really don't know what to say... If, if all this he did can be exchanged for a moving or eternal memory, maybe I will feel so relieved; but, is there? After receiving a brief sense of comfort, or being liked by an "excellent" man, Daisy continued her old life after all. Will she care about the simple man who remembers "five years until November"? Maybe, yes, maybe, life will erase all memory, and more likely, she hopes to never remember Gatsby, remember the car accident.

I don't know how to objectively evaluate Gatsby. Because I have never met such a man, at least not yet... But, I will never be a woman like Daisy.

The casting is not so great. Robert Redford is too classy for Gatsby, and Mia Farrow did not interpret Daisy well. Do not want to comment on the rest of the cast.

The story is restored, the plot and most of the details are no problem, but the ambiguous tone of the original is missing-this is the most difficult point of this novel. The dramatic rendering is also weak. And Nick is almost marginalized. Looking forward to the new edition this year

The Great Gatsby quotes

  • Nick Carraway: I thought of Gatsby's wonder when he first picked out the green light at the end of Daisy's dock. He had come a long way to this lawn, and his dream must have seemed so close that he could hardly fail to grasp it... He did not know that it was already behind him.

  • Daisy Buchanan: I love the way you love me.
