I read the German version of "The Scarlet Letter" first, then this version. I think this sequence helps me to understand the completeness of the story. The suspense left by the former has been supplemented in this book. A good ending and a bad ending also satisfy the dual pursuit of joy and sorrow.
I was heartbroken when I read Pastor Ding's sermon. Seems to see the power of that belief.

Believe that everything is the will of God.

Who can say what sin is in the eyes of God?
