If Yella is a terrifying creature immersed in cold water, Barbara is a warm light in the cold sea breeze. The film is restrained from beginning to end, whether it's the humiliation and pain of Barbara being searched, or the girl's last escape, even when the climax is submerged under the waves. Barbara's last choice actually cost her her whole life. At that time, the Berlin Wall still existed, and the day when it fell was still in the future. It took a lot of determination to give a chance to a girl. The movie ends abruptly in the ward warmed by the sun, but Barbara's life will continue, and she may face more pain and trouble. I didn't treat this film as a romantic film, nor was it a literary film, it just told a woman's choice.
